At Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Center City Philadelphia, they sell pizza by the slice for $1. The owner wanted to sell good pizza for $1/slice. A customer wanted to buy a slice of pizza for a homeless person. The owner put up a post-it-note to signify the purchase. In the last year, over 8000 slices of pizza have been purchased for the homeless. The wall in the pizza shop is filled with notes of appreciation and connection. One homeless person acknowledged that this effort helped him/her get back on his/her feet with food in the belly and a new job! The idea is so simple and sweet. It happened organically and someone built on each idea to make it what it is today!
